With over 25 years of strategic talent management, leadership development, and organizational change experience, Senior Consultant and Coach Kathryn excels in creating programs that promote growth. At Stratford People & Culture, she expertly guides clients through change to meet their objectives.

    Kathryn Yeung is a key member of the People and Culture Practice at Stratford, delivering Change Management, Leadership Development, Talent Management/Organization Development, and Coaching to clients from multiple industries and countries. She has focused on assisting individuals and organizations with enhancing their leadership capabilities and driving change through large scale transformations to smaller changes and transitions.

    With extensive experience in Change Management, Talent Management programs (re)design and Leadership Development, Kathryn brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. Since joining Stratford in 2014, she has played a pivotal role in helping both individual and organizational clients through change, transition and even full transformation.

    Kathryn specializes in partnering with clients to plan and successfully implement change plans, build change leadership capabilities, modernize talent programs, enhance leadership skills and coach individuals and groups to perform their best. She has a proven track record in private and public sectors and in technology, municipal, health care, not for profit, industries. She has successfully worked with start-ups, established corporations, and non-profits to develop tailored solutions that achieve their unique business objectives.

    An advocate for productive change and transition, Kathryn is dedicated to providing clients with strategies that maximize their potential. She has helped numerous clients and organizations drive change and strengthen their leadership through customized, applicable and sustainable approaches.

    In your mind, what makes Stratford unique?

    What is your favourite part of your job or type of client engagement?

    The diversity and variety of work we do and working with clients who value our involvement.

     

    What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

    In reflecting back over my career, my biggest achievement happened when I was quite young. About 6 years into my career, I was promoted into a role where I ran the University Relations program for a large global telecommunications organization. I had to learn how to oversee and grow a business, manage a team of ~25 people that spanned 9 North American cities. I had to significantly reorganize the team and revamp our operation to maximize our ability to hire 20,000 students per year. It was a huge undertaking, and I learned SO much about running a business and leadership in a short period of time.

    What is a skill you think everyone should have?

    The ability to ask really good questions.

    Simon Sinek, Adam Grant, Josh Bersin, and Reese Witherspoon.

     

    What do you listen to while at work?

    For truly heads-down work, I put on classical music to focus.

     

    What is a quote that motivates you?

    Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”

    How did you become interested in this field?

    I’d say I became interested in HR work as I was graduating from university as a result of studying groups and social systems in my Sociology program.

    It was my dad who introduced me to the function he experienced at his workplace, which he thought would be of interest to me. So after graduating from university, I decided to jump into a post-graduate certificate in HR and I was hooked!

    The change management work found me, in 2004 during a massive transformation project that I was asked to deliver. I’ve been doing similar work consistently since.
