Stratford’s Chad Holliday, VP Product Consulting had the opportunity to interview Allan Wille, former CEO of Klipfolio, about his 17-year tenure as CEO and the importance of Innovation on SaaS organizations looking to scale at SaaS North with Techopia Live.
“Many companies don’t think about innovation and build it into their culture as much as they perhaps should; us included. There are couple of instances in the companies history where if I look back, we should’ve taken a much more aggressive stance on obsolesce of the product. Really thinking about what are the things that we’re doing that will leap frog the current product the entire industry.” says Allan Wille “I think it’s a common pit fall where people get into these situations where the product is going well, it’s growing at 2X, 3X, you’re focused on sales and marketing, you’re fund raising and innovation falls by the way side. So I think it’s one of those things that even as a small company with 5 or 10 people you should build a culture of having a labs groups or twice a year spending time on a future strategy session and thinking about “how will we obsolesce our product?” I think that’s a key question that needs to be answered.”
