Ottawa, ON, June 3, 2013 – Jim Roche, CEO, of Stratford Managers Corporation has been appointed as a member of the advisory board for NRC’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). NRC-IRAP provides innovation and funding services to help accelerate the growth of Canadian business through innovation and technology.

Mr. Roche, a Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Award recipient, is a serial entrepreneur with over 27 years of technology industry experience. He started his career in 1986 as a founding member of Newbridge Networks and went on to co-found Tundra Semiconductor Corporation in 1995, leading the company to a successful IPO and achieving market valuation of over $1.5B. In 2006 Mr. Roche founded Stratford Managers Corporation, an Ottawa-based management consulting firm. Since 1992, he has served on over 25 private-sector and not-for-profit boards and committees.

The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) Advisory Board is in place to provide an external perspective and advice on the strategic directions and management of the Program. The Board's 11 members are appointed by the President of NRC, and represent businesses from across Canada. The Board advises on broad Program directions and policy, annual planning objectives and specific Program issues to the NRC-IRAP Vice President.
