For the first time in Ottawa, the Ottawa Board of Trade, is host to the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), facilitated by the Toronto Region Board of Trade and the World Trade Centre Toronto . Stratford Managers' Business Lead for Business Scale Up, Colleen Kelley, is part of the program's dynamic, hands-on workshops as an export advisor on "Optimizing Your Business Processes". Through presentations, business assessments and one-on-one meetings Colleen will be providing these organizations with the training and support they need to become successful international traders in their specific business sector.
The co-hort of businesses participating in the TAP program will be running over 6-weeks starting in November and finalizing mid-January. TAP graduates report an average growth of 42% in export sales one year after participation, and more than 85% of participants have entered new markets since completing the course. Since its launch in October 2015, TAP has expanded to more than 30 cities across Canada.
