Stratford President and CEO, Jim Roche and VP & Practice Lead, Business Consulting, Colleen Kelley, were featured in an article in the Ottawa Business Journal alongside Calian Group Ltd.'s President and CEO, Kevin Ford, who is also this year's recipient of The Best Ottawa Business Awards (BOBs) CEO of the Year Award.

The interview focused on Stratford's relationship with Calian over the past few years and particularly, our role as a sounding board for Mr. Ford during his first experience as the CEO of a publicly listed company.

“Coaching used to be seen as something that you would give to people that had something that needed fixing. That’s not the case anymore,” says Mr. Roche.

As Ms. Kelley explains, Stratford’s services go well beyond consultations and advice, as we provide hands-on service deliver and, engage in work that helps ensure the success of our clients.

To date, Stratford has provided Mr. Ford and the team at Calian with CEO Advisory and Support Services, Market Research, Crisis Communication Preparation, Enterprise Risk Management Planning and Implementation, Compensation Strategy and Executive Coaching.

“Everything I’ve asked, they’ve been able to bring to the table with a very capable skillset. Even in our internal meetings, Jim and Colleen always refer to Calian as ‘we.’ And it’s not lost on me that that is an important element of the Stratford way. It’s not a bunch of consultants that are there to give you advice and then go packing,” says Mr. Ford.
