To help you get to know us a little better, we sat down with some of our team members and interviewed them on everything from professional experience and obstacles to extracurricular activities and playlist recommendations. We thought you may appreciate seeing the personal side of our team through their shared personal insights, recommendations and hobbies.

What drew you to Stratford?

How Stratford’s purpose, mission and values are not just ideals, but are actively put into practice.

In your mind, what makes Stratford unique?

Stratford Intellectual Property’s unique VIP service allows clients to have us as their one-stop shop when it comes to all things around IP strategy and management. We create peace of mind and confidence for executives, ensuring that they are receiving comprehensive support for their IP needs.

What do you hope your clients take away from working with you/Stratford?

I hope that clients see the value that we add in terms of providing proactive strategic guidance on their IP that aligns with their business objectives. By working with us, they can spend more of their time focusing on other pressing priorities knowing that they are in good hands in terms of their IP.

What is your favourite part of your job or type of client engagement?

One of my favourite parts in my role as a patent agent trainee is encountering a wide range of technologies that I otherwise wouldn’t have been exposed to. Although my educational background is focused on life sciences, I find that it’s both challenging and exciting to immerse myself into different technological fields and ensuring that innovations are clearly captured in patent applications. In terms of client engagements, it would be our VIP engagements – there’s just something about consistently working with these clients and witnessing the strides they make in crossing off various IP strategy action points, especially when these actions are tailored to create the best value for them at different points in time.

What do you listen to while at work?

I sometimes put on some instrumental jazz music while working.

Who are your mentors or inspiration?

People who have dedicated their lives to pursuing their passions, navigating obstacles with resilience, while embodying grace and humility despite their achievements.

What is your favourite way to give back to your community?

I’ve always enjoyed volunteering my time in actively participating in activities that engage with the community, from facilitating educational outreach programs for students to assisting patients in hospitals.

What is something you are passionate about?

I love tennis – both playing and keeping up with professional tournaments.

What is something you've done or tried that you will never do again?

I’ve tried to eat a bowl of super spicy noodles but realized that I couldn’t handle heat very well. I probably wouldn’t survive the show called Hot Ones.
