Specializing in life sciences, Irja brings deep expertise in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and early-stage commercialization. With a background in chemical and biomedical engineering, their work has focused on regenerative medicine, supporting clients in navigating complex IP landscapes and translating cutting-edge research into tangible innovations.

Irja’s expertise spans patent drafting and prosecution, IP strategy and portfolio management, start-up innovation, and IP valuation. They also have extensive experience facilitating industry-academic collaborations, ensuring that groundbreaking discoveries are strategically positioned for commercialization.

Their academic credentials include a Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, along with a BSc in Engineering Chemistry (First Class Honours) from Queen’s University. Irja’s technical focus covers a range of high-impact fields, including cell and gene therapies, biomaterials, pharmaceuticals, drug delivery systems, and polymer chemistry.
